As a member of the Littler CaseSmart – Charges™ team and based in New Jersey, Emily Bordens is responsible for handling charges from investigation to conclusion. She works on client-dedicated service teams, focusing on handling administrative agency charges. She investigates charge allegations, reviews pertinent documents, interviews key witnesses, and provides clients an assessment of the risks associated with the charge. In partnership with the client, she defends the charge by drafting persuasive position statements and responses to the agency’s requests for information.
Emily’s experience is comprised of most aspects and types of employment and labor relations in New Jersey and New York. She has represented employers in labor and employment matters under state and federal law, including, without limitation, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, disability, family medical leave, employment contract disputes, non-competition and trade secret protection, Title VII, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims.
Formerly a Human Resources professional, Emily has regularly counseled employers on all aspects of employment law to help ensure employment law compliance and avoid costly litigation. Emily has also conducted investigations for employers into harassment, discrimination and whistleblower claims, and regularly trained supervisors and employees on labor and employment matters.
