The EU Pay Transparency Directive
The EU has introduced binding and significant measures governing pay equity, pay transparency, and reporting requirements via the EU Pay Transparency Directive. The Directive came into force on June 7, 2023, and EU countries have until June 7, 2026 to take action to implement its requirements into local laws. The Directive introduces a host of new obligations, beyond broad pay reporting requirements, which will intersect with all aspects of an employer’s recruitment and people processes, including remuneration, pay structures, and job frameworks.
