Littler Mendelson is pleased to announce that Chevron has selected the firm to receive the 2005 Chevron Texaco Law Firm Diversity Recognition Award.
Chevron, one of the corporations carving the pathway for inclusive, diverse work environments, prides itself on actively embracing a diversity of people, ideas, talents and experiences. They have recognized Littler Mendelson as one of four outside counsel law firms that have matched their efforts to encouraging different perspectives and diversity in the workforce.
"We expect that same commitment to diversity from the law firms we retain," says Charles A. James, Vice President and General Counsel of Chevron Corporation, "and we are proud to acknowledge that [Littler] has demonstrated that commitment."
Littler Mendelson's commitment to diversity, enhanced through the efforts of its Diversity Council, has had a significant impact on the firm, its culture, and the way its role as citizens is viewed in the communities in which we work and live. The ChevronTexaco Diversity Recognition Award will be displayed alongside other honors Littler has received in recognition from clients, community organizations and the media for leadership in promoting diversity.
To complement the award, Chevron has donated two thousand dollars to the Houston Bar Association Foundation, a non-profit group committed to providing free legal services to those who need it most.
