John D. Tripoli focuses his practice on class action, regulatory, and appellate litigation, and defends businesses in all stages of state and federal employment claims, including:

  • Wage and hour putative class action claims
  • Employee misclassification claims
  • Discrimination and harassment claims
  • Restrictive covenants
  • Employment terminations and disciplinary actions
  • EEOC, NLRB, DOL, and state civil rights agency investigations
  • California Private Attorneys’ General Act
  • Wisconsin wage payment and collection laws

J.D.’s work has secured victories before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Wisconsin Supreme Court, state and federal appellate courts, and federal district courts nationwide. J.D. also has significant experience counseling global corporations and government entities, including state legislatures and agencies, through complex crises, assertions of federal government authority, regulatory investigations, risk avoidance, and public-relations inquiries.

Prior to joining Littler, J.D. worked for one of the top commercial and class action litigation boutiques in the U.S. where he focused on labor and employment matters. He also previously served as acting chief legal counsel and deputy chief legal counsel to the Governor of Wisconsin. As the Governor’s counsel, J.D. managed federal and state litigation involving the Governor and his administration and collaborated with the Wisconsin Department of Justice on over 20 briefs filed before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals. He also managed the Wisconsin Governor’s Office of Regulatory Compliance, ensuring that all Wisconsin state agencies properly exercised their authority in enforcement actions and investigations. Rounding out his government practice, J.D. served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit for the Hon. Michael B. Brennan.
