Untangling the Web of Employee Leaves, and Other Employment Law Developments in 2013

Unsure of what to do when an employee requests a leave of absence? Afraid of making the wrong move when the employee does not return to work? Frustrated with trying to manage intermittent leave?  How does your Company handle vacation and sick time?  What about the employee who claims to have a “disability,” or who you think might have a “disability”?

This important and timely program will highlight the most pressing leave of absence compliance issues for employers, including a discussion of the new disability discrimination regulations.  We will provide practical guidance on responding to requests for leave or accommodation, determining employee eligibility for particular leaves, effectively reinstating employees after leave, and understanding and avoiding liability in this complex area.  We will also provide the information you need to ensure that your vacation and sick policies are compliant with California law.

Finally, the presentation will conclude with a summary and discussion of key laws and developments for employers as we approach the middle of 2013.
