On May 23, 2012, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that recently it has received an unexpectedly high number of I-129 petitions. As a result, it will take longer than usual for USCIS to issue receipt notices to customers. USCIS has indicated that the standard wait time, within 30 days of delivery confirmation, has been extended by two to four weeks. Customers should contact the appropriate USCIS service center if they have not received notification of receipt of an I-129 petition within 60 days of their delivery confirmation date.
