RICO Charges Are Newest Wrinkle in Immigration Labor Issue

This article discusses a new source of potential liability for for employers dealing with immigration and Social Security Laws; RICO charges. Authored by Littler's Don Benson, the article reveals details of why and how these federal civil RICO violiations are established. Benson follows the Williams v. Mohawk case, and describes the thorny issues that can evolve for employers, and notes that "Any employer located in an area with growing immigrant worker pools may be a target for these types of RICO class actions".
