Kansas City, MO/June 1, 2006 -- Littler Mendelson, the nation's largest employment and labor law firm, announced today that Erin Webber, Esq. will lead the firm's expansion into Missouri and Kansas with the opening of a Kansas City office.
For Littler, the Kansas City office is the firm's 36th office. Littler's presence in Missouri and Kansas fortifies the firm's strong national presence and increases the resources it can offer existing and prospective clients.
"We've been facing increasing demands from our existing clients to do work for them in Missouri and Kansas," said Larry Marquess, the office managing shareholder in Littler's Denver office. The Kansas City office will be led by Erin Webber, and will expand as the regional practice grows. "I see Littler as the gold standard in labor and employment law," said Webber. Ms. Webber represents companies in various employment matters, with an emphasis on employment discrimination on the basis of sex, age, race and disability, retaliation and workplace harassment. She also assists employers with employee and managerial training, onsite investigations, and other preventative measures. Before joining Littler Mendelson, Ms. Webber defended clients in employment lawsuits with a law firm in St. Joseph and Kansas City. While there, she represented employers in lawsuits brought by employees asserting claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge, and First Amendment violations.
Ms. Webber received her J.D. from the University of Missouri in 1996, where she was awarded the Allen H. Park Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. She received her B.A. from the University of Missouri in 1993 and was a member of the University of Missouri Honors College. Webber served as a District 1 representative to the Young Lawyers Council of the Missouri Bar from 1999-2000, Executive Board Member in 2000, and is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Group of the Missouri Bar. She is also a Charter member of the Young Litigator's Forum of Kansas City.
Webber is admitted to practice in the Kansas federal court, the Colorado and Missouri state and federal courts, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Eighth and Tenth Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.
