NASHVILLE, TN (June 6, 2013) – Littler Mendelson, P.C., the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, announced that Jennifer Robinson and Joycelyn Stevenson have been named to the Nashville Business Journal’s 2013 “Best of the Bar” list, which recognizes Middle Tennessee's leading lawyers and corporate counsel. Robinson is Nashville’s office managing shareholder, and Stevenson, joined Littler as a shareholder earlier this year.
The Nashville Business Journal solicited nominees from the corporate and legal communities in three law-firm size categories, as well as one for corporate counsel. The nominees were reviewed by an internal advisory committee and were subsequently vetted through an anonymous peer voting system by fellow finalists.
This recognition coincides with Littler’s enhanced presence in Tennessee. Since opening in 2011, the Nashville office has increased to eight attorneys, with Stevenson joining as the newest shareholder, part of the firm’s ongoing efforts to recruit top talent. Littler also recently added Brian Clifford, an associate who arrived from Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP. To accommodate its continued growth, the Nashville office expanded earlier this year to a new office space in the AT&T building located at 333 Commerce Street in downtown Nashville.
“The recognition among the Nashville community underscores the firm's commitment to providing its clients with a great depth of experience and industry knowledge, both to this key region, nationally and globally,” said Tom Bender, Littler’s co-president and co-managing director. “The firm’s growth in Tennessee will address the rising employment and labor needs of businesses in the Nashville market.”
The office provides legal counsel and services to a number of global companies in such leading industries as healthcare, retail, financial services, manufacturing and distribution. Littler’s clients include some of the most prominent companies in Middle Tennessee and in the Southeastern United States.
Littler was recently ranked by Chambers USA in Band 1 for the “Labor & Employment” category in Tennessee, which recognized the firm’s strong reputation for industrial labor matters and its depth of trial experience. In addition, Robinson was ranked individually in Band 2 in this same category for her expertise in heavyweight wage and hour class actions.
“These are well-deserved honors for Jennifer and Joycelyn, who are highly regarded practitioners in Nashville’s legal and business communities,” added Jeremy Roth, co-president and co-managing director for Littler. “Both shareholders are integrally involved in the growth of the Nashville office, which continues to thrive in one of the firm’s strategic regional markets.”
