LOS ANGELES, CA (January 25, 2013) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has added Monica Quinn as a shareholder in its Downtown Los Angeles office. Quinn was previously a partner at Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP’s Los Angeles office.
“Attracting strong lateral shareholders is critical to the continued growth and success of our firm,” said Robert S. Blumberg, office managing shareholder of Littler’s Century City and Downtown Los Angeles offices. “We are pleased to welcome Monica as the newest addition to our shareholder ranks in Los Angeles. Her impressive labor and employment background will complement our already-robust practice and we look forward to leveraging her talents as we continue to work with employers throughout the Southern California region and beyond to help them navigate the ever-changing and complex business and legal landscape.”
Quinn is experienced in both litigation and counseling matters and handles a wide spectrum of employment disputes including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and retaliation at all levels of state and federal court. Additionally, she defends employers before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and in arbitration proceedings.
Quinn provides counsel on numerous employment-related issues including employee handbooks and policies, employee hiring, discipline and termination, and wage and hour and trade secret issues, as well as drug and alcohol testing, privacy, disability accommodation and leave of absence issues. She has also conducted management and employee seminars and provided training on discrimination and harassment.
“Littler’s distinguished reputation in labor and employment nationwide, state-of-the-art-resources and talented team of attorneys are what drew me to the firm,” added Quinn. “Joining Littler gives me the opportunity to provide broader services to clients nationwide to address the myriad of labor and employment issues they face every day.”
Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Quinn was an associate with the Orange County office of Paul Hastings, LLP and a member of the firm’s employment litigation practice.
In addition to being a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, Quinn is a member of the Employment Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She has written and spoken on a variety of employment law issues and recently published chapters regarding Litigation 101 for the HR Professional and Social Networking and Off-Duty Conduct.
Quinn received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 1998 and her B.A., cum laude, in 1995 from the University of California at Riverside.
