Cupertino shooting not first instance of workplace violence

In this TV news segment, Garry Mathiason comments on the October 5, 2011 shooting at Lehigh Southwest Cement Permanente in which an employee opened fire during a company safety meeting, killing three people and injuring seven others. Mathiason comments on the importance of prevention stating that intervention has proven to work as it did with the United States Postal Service back in the 1980s. “They adopted preventative services, managerial training, policies (and) processes,” said Mathiason.
