As a member of the Littler CaseSmart – Charges™ team and based in Indiana, Michael Mohler is responsible for handling charges from investigation to conclusion. He works on client-dedicated service teams, focusing on handling administrative agency charges. He investigates charge allegations, reviews pertinent documents, interviews key witnesses, and provides clients an assessment of the risks associated with the charge. In partnership with the client, he defends the charge by drafting persuasive position statements and responses to the agency’s requests for information.
Prior to joining Littler, Michael was an associate at a national labor and employment boutique, handling all aspects of employment litigation, including:
- Title VII discrimination cases including sex, race, gender, national origin, and religious discrimination, as well as corollary claims under Indiana and Kentucky law
- Disability discrimination cases under the ADA and Indiana and Kentucky law
- Age discrimination cases under the ADEA and Indiana and Kentucky law
- Wage and hour cases under the FLSA and Indiana and Kentucky law
- Trade secret and noncompete cases
- Executive contract cases
Further experience includes:
- Investigating claims and interviewing witnesses
- Preparing Statements of Position with the EEOC and state agencies, including responding to requests for information
- Drafting and revising company policies on discrimination, diversity and inclusion, and state law compliance
- Representing clients in mediations
- Advising clients on nuanced issues of state and local ordinances, including wage and hour, privacy, disclosure requirements, and workplace safety
