Overview

As a member of the Littler CaseSmart – Charges™ team and based in Louisiana, Justin N. Myers is responsible for handling charges from investigation to conclusion. He works on client-dedicated service teams, focusing on handling administrative agency charges. He investigates charge allegations, reviews pertinent documents, interviews key witnesses, and provides clients an assessment of the risks associated with the charge. In partnership with the client, he defends the charge by drafting persuasive position statements and responses to the agency’s requests for information.

Previously, Justin served as special or general counsel for public bodies throughout the state, with particular focus on employment matters facing public school districts, as well as district and municipal courts. Justin’s employment practice also involved a robust litigation portfolio involving the defense of employers in state and federal courts on discrimination and wage and hour claims. He frequently negotiated employment contracts, with a particular focus on navigating issues involving noncompetition obligations. 

Justin began his career litigating a variety of commercial and business disputes, as well as representing clients in real estate and oil and gas transactions. Over this period, he also gained significant experience and insight serving as counsel for banking and financial institutions on regulatory and litigation matters.

He is a frequent speaker on wage and hour, employment, and general liability issues facing school districts and public employers across the state of Louisiana at the annual Louisiana School Law Workshop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has presented on wage and hour issues at the annual conference of Louisiana Association of School Business Officials in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
