Jessica C. Pooran focuses her practice on labor and employment matters, including ERISA, NJLAD, and CEPA claims for discrimination between employers and employees.
Prior to joining Littler, Jessica was an associate attorney at a regional business law firm. She drafted several summary judgment motions and motions to dismiss for public and private clients for construction, commercial litigation, personal injury, real property, and professional malpractice matters. She also drafted dozens of discovery motions and other pre-trial motions, such as motions in limine, motions to quash, motions to bar, and motions to compel. Jessica represented clients for arbitrations and oral arguments, and second-chaired mediations.
Jessica clerked for the Hon. Mary K. Costello in Hudson County Superior Court in Civil and Chancery from 2019 to 2020. She prepared memos focused primarily on matters dealing with complex business litigation, legal and medical malpractice, and NJLAD and CEPA claims for summary judgment and motions to dismiss. In Chancery, for probate matters, she primarily focused on probating holographic wills and issues involving undue influence and incapacity. Regarding general equity matters involving chancery and foreclosure, she primarily researched and drafted memos for Orders to Show Cause, the appointment of rent receivers, and vacating and confirming arbitrator’s awards.
During law school, she was a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council, Moot Court Executive Board, and an Academic Success Fellow.
