Gina K. Smith is Counsel on the Class Action Counsel team and is based in Mississippi. As a research attorney for class, collective, mass, and representative actions, she performs multijurisdictional legal research and analyzes issues on a variety of legal topics and writes concise, objective summaries of complex legal issues to help inform critical strategic decisions.
Upon graduation from law school, Gina began serving as the career federal judicial law clerk for a U.S. District Court Judge in the Northern District of Mississippi and held that position for six years. During her career clerkship, she obtained significant experience in legal research and writing in all types of litigation, particularly employment litigation. She also participated in numerous jury trials of employment actions. Gina joined Littler in 2017 and has served as research counsel since that time. Her extensive experience in research and opinion drafting as a federal judicial law clerk, as well as her research and writing experience since that time, allow her to focus on researching issues present in complex wage and hour class and collective matters, making her highly efficient and effective at moving through complex, nuanced legal and factual research issues.
During law school, she served on law review. Gina earned her undergraduate degree in journalism and later published over 50 articles in different publications as a freelance writer and editor for several news publications.
