Over the course of his career, Derek Bishop has advised and represented employers in a wide range of industries, from agriculture to transportation to manufacturing to tech. For his entire career, Derek has focused on defending employers, and named employees, in all types of litigation. This includes representing clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), as well as both state and federal courts in Washington and Oregon.
Derek has represented clients in a wide range of employment litigation, including both single plaintiff and class action cases. He routinely handles cases alleging violation of state and federal anti-discrimination laws, violation of wage and hour laws, violation of rest break and meal periods, and Washington State’s prohibition on noncompetition covenants.
In addition, Derek has counseled employers regarding compliance with various federal, state and local laws related to disciplining, paying and scheduling employees. He has also assisted clients with employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, severance agreements, and payroll plans.
Prior to working at Littler, Derek was a partner at a national law firm, where he focused on representing and advising employers in all aspects of employment law.
