Overview

Colleen Koehler defends employers and supervisors in employment-related actions before federal and state courts as well as administrative bodies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. She also advises clients on employment matters in an effort to avoid litigation.

Colleen has experience with a broad array of laws affecting employment including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the National Labor Relations Act and various Ohio laws, including those relating to discrimination, civil service, and trade secrets.

Before joining Littler, Colleen spent five years in the Employment Law Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. In that role, she represented state entities, including higher educational institutions, regulatory boards, and elected officials, in employment-related litigation. Prior to her public service, Colleen practiced with two private firms: a defense firm, where she concentrated in traditional labor, and a plaintiff’s firm focused on age discrimination, where she second-chaired three trials.
