Shirley Shu focuses her practice exclusively on labor and employment matters. In her practice, Shirley has represented employers in single plaintiff, representative, and class action matters across a variety of industries, including hospitality, restaurant, start-up, technology, franchising, and nonprofit industries. She has defended against claims of joint employment, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. She has also handled matters involving employee mobility and trade secret issues.
Shirley has litigated cases before California state and federal courts, as well as before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement’s Retaliation Division, Labor Commissioner, and National Labor Relations Board. She is well versed in all phases of litigation, including discovery, law and motion, and dispositive motion practice.
Prior to joining Littler, Shirley worked as an associate and of counsel at several national and California firms. Additionally, during law school, Shirley served as an extern to the Hon. Fred Woods in the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District, Division Seven.
