Overview

Elizabeth A. Sopinski is a member of the Littler CaseSmart® team and is based in New York. She is responsible for early case evaluation (ECE). At the outset of each employment litigation matter, she identifies and reviews pertinent documents, interviews relevant witnesses, and drafts an ECE report for clients’ cases. In keeping with each client’s litigation philosophy, she partners with the local Littler litigation team and assists in developing and executing strategies for effectively handling litigation.

Previously, Liz practiced litigation defense work at a general practice law firm in upstate New York, handling all aspects of litigation from inception through trial and appeal. Her primary areas of practice included employment law and medical malpractice defense. In her employment law practice, Liz primarily represented defendants before agencies and in court regarding all areas of employment litigation, including claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation in violation of Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the New York State Human Rights Law. She also counseled clients on a wide range of employment-related matters, including employment agreements, workplace policies, and issues related to discipline and discharge.

While in law school, Liz served as the executive publication editor of the Buffalo Law Review, a position to which she was elected by her peers on the Law Review.
