At Littler, we are gearing up for EEO-1 season, when many businesses must inform the federal government about their workforce locations, employee counts, and demographics. In 2020, we prepared for the season but were disappointed as the EEOC postponed collection of 2019 EEO-1 data until the following year. As a result, this year we have double the reporting to anticipate. That's right, employers with at least 100 employees must now file two EEO-1 reports in calendar year 2021.
Although Component 2 compensation data is no longer part of the standard EEO-1 filing, we anticipate this modified schedule, combined with EEOC's retention of a new technology vendor for employer data collection, will bring unexpected challenges.
