As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the American economy went from quite hot to partially frozen in just a matter of weeks. “Nonessential” businesses closed. Now there may be signs of a thaw, as several states have made preliminary announcements that these nonessential businesses may be allowed to reopen.
The lifting of shelter-in-place orders may sound like good news, but actually reopening a previously closed operation is likely to be complicated and challenging.
