Overview

Lawrence D. Levien focuses his practice on the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements and of complex multiparty transactions. He advises clients on corporate acquisitions, bankruptcies and divestitures, with an emphasis on companies facing economic difficulties or industrywide dislocations. He also has a deep understanding of issues related to underfunded multiemployer-defined benefit plans, and potential withdrawal liability facing companies in those circumstances.

He previously served in the Appellate Court and Litigation Section of the National Labor Relations Board. He also has written professionally as a reporter and correspondent before and during his legal career.
