Overview

Judith A. Paulson focuses her practice on providing California and multistate employment and labor law compliance and avoidance advice to employers. Judy routinely partners with legal, human resources and management personnel to implement and maintain legal compliance with ever-changing employment laws by reviewing and drafting personnel policies, including employee handbooks.

Judy guides clients and provides legal advice with respect to onboarding, termination, leaves of absence, workers compensation (specifically, discrimination and willful misconduct claims), wage and hour, and fair employment practices on a federal, state and local leave.

She conducts workplace training seminars including mandated California Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Training, wage and hour and leaves of absence. Judy has represented employers in civil litigation in state and federal courts and routinely before government agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, the Office of the Labor Commissioner, California Civil Rights Department and the California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.
