MORGANTOWN, WV (February 24, 2015) – Following a series of recent lateral hires, Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Richard (Rick) M. Wallace as the newest member of its attorney ranks. Wallace joins the firm’s Morgantown, WV office as a shareholder and brings extensive labor and employment experience. Prior to joining Littler, he practiced in the Charleston, WV office of Spilman Thomas & Battle.

A skilled employment litigator, Wallace’s trial experience includes matters involving race, age, discrimination, wrongful discharge, workplace harassment, violations of the Uniform Trade Secrets Act and breaches of the duty of loyalty. He regularly represents clients in all phases of employment litigation in both state and federal courts.
Wallace’s wide-ranging labor law background includes serving as a lead negotiator in collective bargaining negotiations, handling numerous labor arbitrations, and providing counsel prior to and during union organizing campaigns and strikes. He has also served as lead counsel in multiple labor-related litigation matters in federal court and has represented numerous employers in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, including unfair labor practice, unit clarification and representation proceedings. Additionally, Wallace has developed affirmative action plans for employers and defended compliance audits by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.

Active in the local business and civic communities, Wallace serves on the board of directors for the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia and Kanawha HospiceCare. He is also a former board chairman for the Friends of the Clay Center and is an alumni of the Leadership West Virginia program, class of 2012.
Wallace is a Chambers USA-ranked attorney, is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and was listed in the West Virginia Super Lawyers as a Rising Star. He received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Virginia.
