PHOENIX, AZ (September 9, 2013) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has named Shawn Oller office managing shareholder (OMS) of the firm’s Phoenix office. Oller takes over the reins from Mark Ogden, who served in the OMS role for 15 years and will return to his litigation practice full-time while continuing to enhance the firm’s presence throughout the United States and Latin America.
“Shawn is an exceptional attorney, and we look forward to him building on the successes of the Phoenix office created under Mark’s leadership,” Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, said in a joint statement. “Shawn’s outstanding legal background and proven management qualities will be instrumental in furthering the growth of the office throughout the regional market and nationally. And, we look forward to Mark’s ongoing senior leadership within the law firm as we continue to build our superior client service model.”
Oller said he welcomed the challenge of the new leadership position. “I am excited to be taking on the role of office managing shareholder,” he said. “Mark has been an excellent leader and mentor, and has established Littler as a key player in the Phoenix market. I am eager to work with my colleagues in the Phoenix office to continue to deliver high quality labor and employment legal services to employers throughout the Southwest.”
An experienced trial lawyer, Oller represents management and companies in all aspects of employment litigation, arbitration and mediation. He has achieved notable decisions in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, with extensive experience defending harassment and discrimination claims on the federal and state levels. In addition to litigating matters, Oller regularly counsels employers on day-to-day personnel matters and compliance issues. He has spoken extensively on a variety of labor issues before business and professional associations, as well as at Littler-sponsored events.
Oller has long been active in the firm’s internal operations, serving as a member of the Associates Committee, the Diversity & Inclusion Council and the Good Business Practices Committee. He has been named by Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Oller earned his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law (1995) and his B.S. from Northeastern University (1992).
