Stacey James has practiced exclusively in the field of labor and employment law, with an emphasis on advising management on wage and hour matters, employee discipline and termination, employment policies and procedures, employee benefits, and fair employment practices.
Ms. James has extensive experience defending employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, defamation, invasion of privacy, workplace violence, overtime and other wage/hour issues, class actions, and other related matters. She has defended employers in state and federal court and before numerous state and federal administrative agencies, and is a published author and frequent lecturer. She has presented lectures for employer organizations such as North County Personnel Association, East County Personnel Association, San Diego Chapter of the American Payroll Association, Dendera HR and Benefits Group, TLC Staffing Issues in the Workplace Series, National Council of Chain Restaurants, San Diego Employers Association, and Employers Group. Ms. James previously worked in Human Resources and is SPHR certified by the Human Resources Certification Institute. Ms. James received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and her B.S. from San Diego State University. She is admitted to practice in California.
