Every employer in the United States is routinely confronted with the need to investigate workplace incidents, ranging from allegations of discrimination to financial wrongdoings to alleged misconduct, which may become the subject of internal disciplinary proceedings or governmental review.

Additionally, litigation arising out of incidents of harassment, discrimination and other types of workplace misconduct costs organizations billions of dollars each year. Employee lawsuits increasingly focus on the quality of the organization's investigations, and many courts have made it clear that an effective, unbiased investigation is one of the best weapons against liability in employment litigation.

This comprehensive workshop will provide the skills necessary to conduct effective internal investigations that produce objective results and withstand scrutiny in subsequent litigation. Using a unique approach, participants build "real life" skills by learning how to develop an investigation plan, review files, interview witnesses, document those interviews and reach a conclusion.
