WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 1, 2012) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has named Alison N. Davis office managing shareholder (OMS) of its Washington, D.C. office. Davis succeeds Nancy N. Delogu, who has been OMS of the office since 2008 and will continue her practice at the firm defending management in a wide range of employment disputes.
“We thank Nancy, who has guided the Washington, D.C. office through significant growth during the past four years, for her outstanding contributions. During her tenure, the office has grown to 50 employees and she has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s capabilities in such key areas as class action litigation and government affairs throughout the region,” said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director of Littler. “We are excited to pass on the torch to Alison. Her leadership talents, coupled with a trademark calm demeanor, make her an excellent choice to lead the Washington office.”

With extensive litigation experience in the employment arena, Davis has represented management in sexual harassment matters; race, national origin, age, gender and disability discrimination matters and overtime matters. She has also represented employers in wrongful termination claims and pay discrimination and wage and hour matters. Davis has appeared in state and federal courts and before a number of agencies, including the Equal Opportunity Commission, the Maryland Commission on Human Relations, the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights and the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor. She handles prevailing wage and health and welfare benefit issues, conducts discrimination and harassment investigations and assists clients with debarments, ethics issues and performance management. Davis provides counsel on employment laws, compliance and policies and procedures, in addition to disciplinary actions, diversity and wage and hour issues. Her clients span a number of industries, such as education, transportation, hospitality, healthcare, the nonprofit sector, the government and retail, among others.
Davis is active in a number of professional organizations, including the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association and the National Bar Association. She is a founding member of the D.C. chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, was co-chair of the Second Annual Diversity Summit of the D.C. chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources and is a partner of the Friends of Choice in Urban Schools – Georgetown University.
A distinguished attorney, Davis was named Lawyer of the Year in the Labor Law – Management category for the Washington, D.C. region by Best Lawyers in 2012, and has been consistently listed as a Best Lawyer in America by the publication since 2008.
Davis received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. from McGill University, with honors.
