San Diego, CA/ July 11, 2006 -- The State Bar of California has appointed Denise Visconti to their Committee on Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity Discrimination (CSOGID). Denise, a senior associate in Littler Mendelson's San Diego office, will serve a three-year term beginning October 2006.
Visconti will serve on the Committee in order to eliminate bias in the bar and the legal profession. The CSOGID represents different segments of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community with expertise or an interest in increasing diversity in the legal profession.
"This is a terrific accomplishment for Denise, and a great reflection on our firm and our office," says Littler's Office Managing Shareholder, Jeremy Roth. "Denise continues to be a tremendous supporter of our office's and our firm's efforts at fostering diversity in the legal profession, and she will be a fantastic addition to this important and worthwhile Committee."
Visconti's practice at Littler Mendelson, the nation's largest employment and labor law firm, focuses exclusively on counseling and assisting small and large employers embroiled in labor and employment issues. She earned her J.D. magna cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2000, and her B.S. and M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University in 1989 and 1991.
