NEWARK, NJ (May 2, 2011) – Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation's largest employment and labor law firm representing management, today announced that Alan I. Model has been installed as President of the Essex County Bar Association (ECBA). Model is a shareholder in the firm's Newark office.
The Essex County Bar Association is the largest county bar association in the State of New Jersey with nearly 2,500 active members. With over 100 years of service to the Essex and New Jersey legal communities, the Association enjoys a strong reputation as one of the most successful and responsive volunteer legal organizations in the state.

Model's practice includes defending employment discrimination cases and complying with the National Labor Relations Act, as well as handling contract negotiations and labor arbitrations and drafting employment agreements. He also counsels human resource professionals on day-to-day workplace issues, restrictive covenant agreements, and wage-hour classifications. Other employment matters that Model provides guidance on include sexual discrimination, harassment, diversity and downsizing.
He was formerly a Trustee for the Essex County Bar Association and Co-Chair of its Labor and Employment Committee. He is a member of the New Jersey and New York State Bar Associations.
Model received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and his B.A. from Lafayette College. He also studied at the London School of Economics.
