NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 11, 2022) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Paula N. Anthony as a shareholder in its New Haven office. She was previously a partner with Berchem Moses PC and is admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York.
An advisor to clients in the private and public sectors, Anthony defends employers in litigation matters, mediations and arbitrations. She also regularly conducts workplace investigations and counsels on a wide range of employment matters, including hiring and other pre-employment considerations, personnel policies and practices, terminations and separation agreements, medical and other leaves of absence, unemployment compensation, and pension and benefit issues.
“Paula is a skilled advisor, litigator and well-rounded employment lawyer who will be a terrific addition to the New Haven team,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Her resume and credentials speak for themselves, and we are excited to add an attorney with her depth of experience in both the public and private realms.”
Anthony represents employers before federal and state courts, as well as administrative agencies. Prior to joining Berchem Moses, she gained significant experience in public sector legal representation through her role as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Waterbury, Connecticut, which included managing labor and employment matters and advising on various municipal issues.
“Paula has proven herself to be a thoughtful and capable counselor to clients,” said Lori Alexander, Littler’s office managing shareholder in New Haven. “Not only does she know the ins-and-outs of the Connecticut court system and various state agencies, but she can effectively guide management through each phase of the employment cycle – from pre-employment matters to separation agreements. Our clients will benefit greatly from her breadth of knowledge and deep roots in the community.”
“I have always been impressed with the strength of Littler’s team in New Haven and across New England, as well as its reputation as the premier global employment law firm,” Anthony said. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues in Connecticut and drawing on Littler’s vast resources to grow my practice and continue providing the exceptional level of service the firm’s clients are accustomed to.”
Anthony received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Pace University. Active in her local community, she is a long-standing member of the Board of Directors and current president of the Shelton Historical Society in Connecticut, and currently serves on a Regional Advisory Board for the Women’s Business Development Council. Anthony has also served as a member of the Greater Waterbury YMCA Risk Management Committee and as a member of Pace University’s Women in Business Alumnae Council, where she provided students with career mentorship and facilitated networking opportunities with female alumnae.
Additionally, Anthony is a frequent presenter on various employment topics and plays leading roles in several professional associations. She serves as a board member and legislative liaison for the Human Resource Leadership Association of Eastern Connecticut, and previously chaired the Connecticut Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section.
