The Government of Tunisia has decided to proceed with the gradual and targeted lifting of the general lockdown declared on March 22, 2020 to deal with the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Government Decree No. 2020-208, dated May 2, 2020, provides a timetable by which specified workforce sectors may reopen and at what capacity. The Decree also describes the preventive measures private-sector employers must take to ensure employees’ health and safety. The Government has issued a procedure manual to clarify such employer precautions.
