Leah E. Peterson advises and represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims. She has experience representing employers in state and federal courts, including single plaintiff, multiplaintiff, and representative and class action lawsuits. She also has obtained favorable results and settlements representing employers before administrative agencies, including the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. Leah works with in-house counsel and human resources representatives to provide advice and counsel on challenging personnel issues, including employee discipline, terminations, and leaves of absence.
During law school, Leah served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Josephine Staton in the Central District of California and was a UCLA Jones Day 1L Moot Court Competition Finalist. Before law school, she was a graduate fellow AmeriCorps member of the JusticeCorps program in the Los Angeles Superior Court, where she provided direct assistance to pro se litigants and assisted them in completing family law forms.
