Timely Talk About Wage and Hour Law: Ways to Decrease Attorneys’ Fees and Costs in Class Action Lawsuits

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

  • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PST

Defending against a wage and hour class action can be one of the most expensive (and time consuming) endeavors a company can undertake. They are also notoriously lengthy battles, and incredibly difficult to budget. But there are ways to save. The presenters will discuss different ways companies can try to decrease both their external and internal costs in class actions, such as:

  • Creating policies and procedures for storing time and payroll records
  • Assigning the right point person or team to coordinate efforts with outside counsel
  • Starting the process of collecting data and documents early
  • Weighing the pros and cons of early mediation
  • Keeping the attorneys’ fees claimed by plaintiff’s counsel low
  • Avoiding the discovery “churn”

This webinar will focus on lawsuits brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the California Labor Code, but the tips you learn here will be helpful for any class action lawsuit your company might face.
