Return to Work, Leaves of Absences and Vaccinations - The COVID-19 Impact on Working Women

Third Thursdays: WLI Brings You Legal Updates Impacting Women

Thursday, April 15, 2021

  • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PDT

The pandemic has disrupted the life of U.S. workers in every industry. Navigating a return to work in an ongoing pandemic presents a host of challenges. Whether it's the eradication of work/life balance experienced by employees in industries that are operating remotely or the need for critical infrastructure workers to choose between going to work or staying home to care for a child, employees and employers are continually required to navigate a host of unprecedented issues. Unfortunately, these challenges are more often than not borne by working women who not only must evaluate how a return will impact their health and safety, but the larger effect on their family or family-to-be. How will I manage my workload and virtual education? What if I need to take leave to care for children who cannot/will not return to school? What if I am pregnant/am thinking about becoming pregnant— can my employer require me to get vaccinated?

The presenters will discuss these, and other important questions, facing working women as the U.S. moves closer to normal and we prepare for return to work during a pandemic.

Littler formed the Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI) in 2008. The initiative focuses on developing and retaining women leaders, because Littler values the importance of having women leaders at every level of the firm. As the labor and employment law environment changes, WLI is here to make sure Littler is able to handle whatever the future brings.
