Thursday, February 18, 2016

  • 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM EST

The Union League of Philadelphia
Library Lounge
140 South Broad Street
Philadelphia, PA 19102

A roundtable discussion specifically designed for business owners, chief financial officers, and human resources personnel regarding the top five labor and employment issues that Pennsylvania and New Jersey businesses need to recognize and anticipate today. The speakers will lead an interactive discussion to help attendees spot and address “red flag” issues in these five areas:

  • Handling employee leave requests, injuries, and medical problems
  • Developing compliant anti-harassment and anti-discrimination programs
  • Conducting pre-employment background screening
  • Monitoring employee time-keeping and compensation
  • Drafting binding agreements with employees

When employers miss spotting “red flag” employment issues, they may be faced with defending a charge or lawsuit by the EEOC. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear about strategic enforcement objectives the EEOC has announced in several of these areas directly from one of the EEOC’s Senior Trial Attorneys, while lawyers from the world’s largest employment law firm offer their perspectives as well.

Discussion: 9:00 - 10:00 am
