Does your company have an open door policy? If you answered yes, then good for you! Employees report that “trusting my supervisor" and “feeling in on things" are highly important to them on their jobs. Having an open door is an important part of that. But what happens next? The key is in the follow up. When supervisors and the rank-and-file partner together to build solutions to workplace problems, it creates a positive atmosphere of trust and transparency, which is so valued by workers.

In this webinar, we will discuss a series of tactics and approaches for creating and maintaining positive employee relations and the active engagement of team members. Frontline supervisors are critical to these efforts, so we will focus on the role that they play in employee engagement and identify the primary skill sets needed to be an effective manager. We will also discuss self-audit tools to ensure that risks are promptly identified. Finally, we will outline action plans to bolster and improve those areas identified by the audit as opportunities for improvement.

Focusing on employee engagement makes good business sense. It also makes tremendous sense from a labor and employment law perspective. Employees who trust their supervisor, and who are satisfied when they go home at the end of their shift, know that if they need help or have a complaint, they use the company's internal processes to get their issues resolved. Legal and Human Resources risks go down as employee satisfaction goes up.
