Managing the 21st Century Sales Force

Thursday, February 16, 2017

  • 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM CST

Littler Minneapolis Office
1300 IDS Center
80 South Eighth Street
Minneapolis, MN 55402

Changing laws, emerging technologies and unconventional business models are reshaping the modern sales organization. Littler presents a small group roundtable of professional peers to discuss the challenges of developing and managing today’s sales force.

Littler attorneys will lead a lively conversation on topics ranging from sales-related exemptions and the independent-contractor/employee divide to the increasing use of personal technology and the rise of remote work. The discussion will be customized to attendee needs. Examples of topics to be discussed include:

  • Should we have policies/agreements addressing sales workers’ social media use?
  • What factors will allow us to classify a sales person under the “7i” exemption and limit overtime expense?
  • Does the use of Salesforce and similar corporate data systems create particular litigation risks?
  • What are the concerns with use of text messages for sales-related communications with (or about) customers?
