July is the New January: A Post-Pandemic Look at Emerging Labor and Employment Law Trends

Tuesday, August 10, 2021

  • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PDT

Over 100 new labor and employment statutes and regulations across the country are scheduled to become effective in the second half of the year. While some of these laws address COVID-19 and topics concerning return-to-work, most mark a renewed attention to other hot-topic labor and employment issues. A number of states and localities have adopted their own nondiscrimination statutes or expanded the same to recognize new protected classifications. Other popular topics include independent contractors and worker classification, marijuana use and drug testing in the workplace, and repairs to state unemployment insurance systems. Littler's Workplace Policy Institute attorneys present an overview of the new laws you'll face in the second half of 2021.
