Federal Database on Driver Drug and Alcohol Use Goes Live: How to Prepare for the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse

On January 6, 2020, employers have new responsibilities in administering U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol programs for regulated drivers. This webinar is designed to assist employers ensure their DOT driver drug and alcohol policies are compliant and that they are ready to begin reporting to and checking the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's new Clearinghouse. We will cover what an employer should be doing to prepare itself and its drivers for compliance by providing guidance on:
- What is the Clearinghouse and how does it affect your regulated driver population
- Ensuring drivers are advised of their responsibilities
- Obtaining valid consents from each driver when the Clearinghouse is queried
- Implementing procedures to facilitate employer mandatory reports to the Clearinghouse
- Incorporating pre-hire and annual Clearinghouse checks for each driver
- Working with testing administrators to assist in compliance – and the limits on your ability to delegate to third parties
