Employment law is always evolving. The speakers will discuss the latest issues and developments in employment law and how they will affect your workplace in 2020. This overview will cover some of the key legal issues coming into force in 2020, including:

  • #MeToo implications in the workplace
  • Updates regarding the ADA and leave administration
  • Trends toward paid sick leave and unlimited PTO policies
  • New wage theft notice laws
  • Changes to the minimum salary threshold for overtime exemptions
  • New Maryland laws including those restricting the use of noncompete agreements, limiting questions about criminal convictions, and increasing the minimum wage
  • New Virginia laws regarding confidentiality agreements with employees and requiring employers to provide employees with employment “records"
