Eric Savage Warns Employees about Discussing Politics in the Workplace

Littler's Eric Savage is quoted in this article covering the discussion of politics in the workplace. "If your employer is a staunch Republican and your views are Democratic and you're vocal about them -- or even if you're not vocal about them -- your employer has the right to terminate you," Savage said. Unless you work for the government or belong to a union, "most workers are 'at will' employees who can be terminated for any reason, and that includes speech or conduct that the employer finds disagreeable, including expressing political views."
