ROCHESTER, New York (August 1, 2019) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has appointed Jacqueline Phipps Polito as office managing shareholder (OMS) of the firm’s Rochester office. Polito succeeds Trent Sutton, who has stepped down from the role and will continue his active practice.
“Trent has been instrumental in growing the firm’s presence in Rochester while helping to expand Littler’s footprint globally, particularly in Asia,” said Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, in a joint statement. “We thank Trent for his many contributions as OMS and look forward to having Jackie take the reins and build upon the foundation Trent has established.”
Polito is a true strategic business partner to her clients, vigorously defending their interests while utilizing her extensive knowledge and varied experience to proactively suggest changes to prevent further litigation. Her vast array of experience as in-house counsel, Labor Relations Director and Chief Human Capital Initiatives Officer, demonstrates her ability to lead and effectuate change through her consensus building approach.
As a seasoned litigator, she handles all types of labor and employment cases, including single plaintiff and class action matters, from inception through trial. She is also a trainer in the areas of workplace investigations and sexual harassment, while often conducting highly sensitive investigations. Her primary industry groups are Higher Education and Health Care, where she routinely supports and defends clients in a full range of employment, labor, Title IX and compliance matters. Polito has been honored by the Rochester Business Journal as a Woman of Excellence, The Daily Record as a Top Woman in Law and is listed among The Best Lawyers in America©.
Polito earned her J.D., cum laude, from Albany Law School and her B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
