(June 4, 2018) – Denise Visconti, office managing shareholder in the San Diego office of Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been appointed chair of the North San Diego Business Chamber (NSDBC) Board of Directors. The NSDBC supports and advocates on behalf of businesses in the northern communities of the city. Visconti’s new position will take effect July 1, 2018.
“It is an honor to be elected to this role, and I look forward to working with the North San Diego Business Chamber board to further the organization’s mission to build strong communities by encouraging economic growth throughout the area,” said Visconti.
In her role as chair, Visconti will manage and provide leadership to the Board of Directors. The diverse chamber board comprises small, medium and large businesses and represents many industries and companies located throughout the region.
In her practice, Visconti handles a broad variety of employment litigation matters, often stemming from claims under the California Labor Code and the Fair Labor Standards Act. She has extensive experience with single-plaintiff claims involving wrongful termination, sexual harassment, employment discrimination and accommodation. Visconti also has extensive experience conducting pay equity audits for all types of employers, from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies, and helped develop the Littler Pay Equity Assessment™, including counseling employers on a broad range of state and federal issues related to pay equity, from compliance, to updating policies and job descriptions, to training managers and recruiters, and more.
Active in the legal community, Visconti is a member of the Equal Access and Fairness Committee of the State Bar of California, a member of the Women Rainmakers Group of the American Bar Association, and a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the San Diego County Bar Association. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, and her M.S. and B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University.
