NEW YORK (August 23, 2019) – Janice Sued Agresti, an attorney in the New York office of Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been accepted to the Hispanic National Bar Association’s (HNBA) 2019 Latina Leadership Academy. The academy will take place September 25- 26 in New York City during the HNBA’s annual meeting.
“As an active member of the HNBA, Janice’s selection to the academy is a well-deserved honor,” said Bruce Millman, New York office managing shareholder. “We’re excited for her opportunity to continue to develop leadership skills and represent Littler among other Latinas in the legal community.”
The Latina Leadership Academy offers relevant professional development and leadership training aimed at Latina lawyers from all areas of the profession who have been in practice 10 years or less. Through interactive presentations, attendees will leave with skills to manage difficult conversations, create opportunities for growth and development, and effectively navigate stereotypes that create barriers for advancement.
In her practice at Littler, Janice advises and represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters arising under both state and federal laws. She is bilingual and has a master’s certificate in bilingual and minority language education, which helps her represent clients in two languages. Janice is a member of the firm’s Reunión affinity group, serving on the recruitment, retention and mentoring subcommittee. In addition to the HNBA, she is a member of the Dominican Bar Association. She was also selected as a National Employment Law Council 2019 Academy Fellow.
Janice earned her J.D. from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, and her M.S.Ed. and B.A., magna cum laude, from Queens College, City University of New York.
