New arrival comes as Stephen Shore is appointed Littler’s Toronto Office Managing Partner
TORONTO (June 3, 2024) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labour law practice representing management, has added Shana French as a partner in its Toronto office. Her arrival comes as Stephen Shore, who joined Littler in April, is named Office Managing Partner in Toronto. French joins from Sherrard Kuzz and marks Littler’s seventh partner level addition since the beginning of April.
A respected member of Toronto’s legal community, French counsels employers – and particularly multinationals entering Canada – on employment and labour law compliance and risk management. She regularly advises on matters relating to the globalization of workplace policies, executive compensation plans, human rights issues, disability accommodation, workplace investigations, grievance arbitration, and wrongful dismissals, among others.
“As more and more multinationals look to enter and grow in the Canadian market – and as Canadian employers continue to expand around the world – Shana brings valuable experience advising global employers,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Canada is a vital part of Littler’s global platform and we look forward to continuing to attract top talent and further expand our offering with Stephen at the helm.”
Prior to private practice, French served as legal counsel to a publicly traded telecommunications company. She regularly speaks at conferences and employer association events across the country.
“Having worked with Shana earlier in my career, I’ve seen firsthand how well her devotion to her clients and depth of experience align with Littler’s client service model,” said new Toronto Office Managing Partner Stephen Shore. “Amid major shifts in workplace dynamics and an evolving regulatory landscape, it’s more important than ever that employers operating in Canada work with responsive, business-minded lawyers such as Shana. We are thrilled to have her on board in Toronto and to bolster the fantastic team we have in place.”
“I’ve long admired Littler’s matchless reach and resources – and am impressed by the firm deepening its commitment to being a best-in-class practice in Canada,” added French. “I couldn’t be more excited to join the team and provide the first-rate legal services clients have come to expect from Littler.”
French received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of New Brunswick and her B.A. from Trent University.
