After years of declining membership, organized labor appears recharged and ready to rebound. In the wake of the agreement to avert the "nuclear option" in the Senate, a new, fully constituted National Labor Relations Board is in place for the first time in a decade and poised to fuel labor's dramatic expansion. Many believe that the new Board will advance labor's agenda — which has been frustrated in Congress — through faster elections, more micro unit determinations and the extension of labor rights in the non-union workplace.

The AFL-CIO is attempting to transform itself through outreach to progressive community groups, and Union Front Organizations (UFOs) are engaging in flash mob strikes across the country. This all comes as the Department is Labor is finalizing a new "persuader" rule that will seriously impact an employer's ability to respond to these challenges.

Is this the beginning of labor's rebirth? Listen to the Workplace Policy Institute's special webinar discussing our Labor Day White Paper to find out what these developments mean and how you can prepare.
