The 2012 elections will likely go down in history as the vote about jobs, and as many of us are acutely aware, workplace policy impacts job creation as well as employers' compliance obligations. After the ballots are counted, what initiatives can employers expect from either an Obama or Romney Administration, Congress and regulatory agencies concerning the organization's relationship with its employees? To help address this question, presenters and co-chairs of Littler's new Workplace Policy Institute (WPI) Ilyse Schuman and Michael Lotito will explore the future of:

  • The Affordable Care Act
  • The EEOC's Strategic Plan
  • The current NLRB's expanding agenda for the union free employer
  • Department of Labor initiatives regarding the Fair Labor Standards Act, Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act, workplace safety and OFCCP regulations and enforcement
  • Immigration reform

WPI is devoted to helping employers anticipate, understand and influence legislative and regulatory developments from a bipartisan perspective to help ensure balance between the legitimate interests of employers and employees. Ilyse and Michael will share insights based on their ongoing conversations with policymakers in Washington to assist the C-Suite of the employer community plan for the future.
