Littler understands the importance of fostering a sustainable workplace to support the health and vitality of our environment.
Across our offices and practice areas, we work together as a firm and collaborate with vendors to minimize the use of raw materials, reduce carbon emissions, lessen waste and pollution, and limit damage to biodiversity from human activity.
“Littler is committed to being a leader in sustainability and to bringing environmental considerations to all aspects of our work around the globe. We believe that environmental stewardship is a key tenet for the firm as we invest in the communities where we live and work.”
– Erin Webber, Managing Director
We factor energy efficiency and sustainability into our office spaces, from prioritizing LEED-certified buildings to using environmentally friendly materials in renovations. We also focus on environmental sustainability and using environmentally friendly products and services at our events.
To align our physical footprint and energy consumption with how people work, we have tracked and assessed office utilization metrics for more than a decade to identify opportunities to reduce square footage and limit carbon emissions through hybrid and remote work.
We have recycling facilities at our offices and encourage the use of sustainable alternatives to single-use items whenever possible, including reusable kitchen supplies versus disposable ones and electronic records instead of printed documents. To divert materials from landfills, we also partner with organizations that repurpose and donate office furniture that we no longer need.
At Littler, we know that travel is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. While travel is often unavoidable given our global footprint, we track the environmental impact of our travel. The firm collects data on the carbon emissions of our flights and continually evaluates environmentally friendly alternatives such as virtual meetings and carbon offsets.
